Tuesday morning: I really must quit this waiting until I am ready for bed to blog! Sleep trumps blogging! Anyway, my Monday training plan had me doing a 50-55 minute walk/run. For me that translates into walking as fast as I can for 5 minutes then wogging, (that is me trying to run which is a cross between walking faster and attempting to jog), for 7 seconds. I was a little concerned about the weather with it being 80 degrees with humidity of the same, but I had a respectable time with no challenges from the heat. I did find myself a little more tired the rest of the day which was not much fun while caring for my 21-month granddaughter, but we made it! :-)
A short side story here: you remember when we went to the Blue Bell 5k last month? Well, I convinced my running buddy to come with me to Bastrop and walk the hills. When I mentioned to grand kids that I was coming down this Tuesday, they asked if I was bring her with me! There was no yea, grandma is coming! Sure glad I know they love me!
Ok, back to work. I have discovered that on the days I pre-plan what I am going to eat I do so much better than the days I just wing it. Unfortunately yesterday was a "wing it" day! I ended up snacking more than I like and also forgot to drink my juice!
I do have something exciting to report: I made it past two McDonald's restaurants on my way home Sunday evening without stopping! I struggle with wanting my hamburger and large sweet tea! Some habits die very hard!! lol
I'm packed and ready to head to Bastrop, Texas for some very exciting hill training! Ugh!!!
