If someone had told me even a year ago
that I would take this much interest in what I ate, how much I
exercised, I would have told them they were crazy! Yes, I was trying
to get healthier, lose some weight, but that was all. Well, now, I
not only pay attention to what I am eating, how many calories I have
consumed, but also what is the nutritional content of what is going
in my mouth. I had 2 boiled eggs the other day and thought that
would be a good breakfast until I saw the cholesterol content of two
eggs! Wow, it was way too much for me since I do have to watch my
cholesterol as it is borderline. The humorous thing for me is that
because of my eating healthier and exercising, my good cholesterol is
so good, it brings the bad up to borderline. But I am now attempting
to lower my bad cholesterol. Who'd of thought I would ever do that!!
On Exercise
I am not at the place where I can say
I love walking, but I no longer dread it. I used to go to the
fitness center and get on the treadmill only because I knew my
exercise partner would give me a hard time if I flaked off. I always
felt good afterwords, but never really wanted to do it up front. I
went out walking several days ago and my goal was 3 miles. I ended
up walking a little over 5 miles! Now I find a lot of days that I
look forward to exercising. I'm even learning how to train for the ½
marathons coming up in the fall!
